Record-Breaking Fundraiser for Boy Scouts of America in Indiana


The Governor’s Luncheon for Scouting is an annual event that was held this year at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, where Markey’s Rental & Staging is the in-house audiovisual supplier.  Addressing an audience of over 2,400, Governor Mitch Daniels spoke about the positive effects that Scouting is having in our communities, and to that point honored an Eagle Scout for heroic effort in attempting to save the life of a Carmel High School employee, saying “This is the sort of leadership you associate with Scouting. The courage, selflessness and leadership we associate with the highest order of citizenship.”

The luncheon is the Crossroads of America Council’s main fundraiser for scouting programs, and this year a record $1.197 million was raised
The Council serves more than 34,500 Scouts annually in 25 Central Indiana counties, with the support of nearly 11,000 registered volunteer leaders, five Scout Centers and seven Scout Camps across the state, a staff of 35 and a $7.6 million annual operating budget.

Markey’s was proud to assist the Boy Scouts of America and Governor Mitch Daniels in raising money for this annual campaign, utilizing dual screens, spotlight, camera, and flown truss/stagewash to optimize the presentation.
